Президент Касым-Жомарт Токаев в послании раскритиковал чиновников за качество дорог в Казахстане и поручил передать ответственность за все дороги правительству, в частности Министерству транспорта. Он также заявил, что без качественных дорог Казахстан не может претендовать на статус глобальной транзитной артерии.
Токаев поручил передать управление всеми республиканскими и местными дорогами правительству через Министерство транспорта и завершить в следующем году реконструкцию всех автомобильных пунктов пропуска.
